Chapters 3-4

Plot Summary:
The reader starts off the chapter learning about a special room in Nonna's house reserved only for when guests come over, it's the only room with air-conditioning. Josie then starts it off with a big argument with her Nonna about Nonna starting fights all the time and not knowing it. Then, after a few seconds the doorbell rings. It was Michael at the door, or as Josie begins to find out, her dad at the door. before even talking to him for long, she walked out the door and continued on. Josie then thinks about wanting to run off to get away and be free.
Thus begins chapter 4. It starts off with debating, versing the team from John Bartons school. St Anthony's (the school John Barton attends) beat St Marthas on Friday night. Afterwards, Josie rushed to the classroom where they served food and drinks to the debaters. There was nothing left, but John barton saved Jozie a Tim Tam. They talked about embarising party moments and then walked outside. They start talking about a regional dance for different schools, and then move onto talking about what careers they want to do next year. John starts telling Josie a secret about his personal life that no body else knows. He starts revealing his secrets to her, and then that they say good bye to each other and leave. Josie then starts talking in the novel about getting a job at McDonalds with Anna.

Challenges faced by the character(s)/information revealed about the character(s):
- Josie starts having a big fight with Nonna about her life and that she should have her own say in life.
- She meets her dad, but doesn't know what to say or do, so she just walks out of the door.
- Josie starts talking to John Barton very closely, and starts relating to him, revealing to the reader that she kind of likes him.
- She gets a job at McDonalds with her friend Anna, but didn't want to tell her mum because she would have a fit.

Important Quotations:
"Your Christina's daughter?" (said by Michael Andretti on pg 39)
"I didn't want to look at him because I would have seemed too eager." (pg 43-44)
"From that minute on I begged to stay on the debating team and I haven't regretted a minute of it." (pg 49)
"...was that I got a job at McDonald's. Anna and I had seen teh advertisement in our local paper and decided to go for it."(pg 49)

Personal Response:
Things are actually starting to happen in these few chapter, such as her starting to like John Barton. The last two chapter where a big boring because nothing really happened, but starting off Chapter 3 with a big fight with Nonna and Chapter 4 about debating and talking deeply with John Barton.
I'm actually starting to like this book.
