He actually comes in, leaving work from a meeting, and talks to Josie privately for a bit. After that he comes out and perswades Carly's dad to not sue htem and he agrees but doesn't say exactly, he implies it. Josie waslks out of school, suspended with Michael, and feels good about herself.

Personal Response:
To me, this chapter especially 8 has really started the book for me. A bit of action like that can never hurt. So this book is really starting to pick up for me. These personal responses might start to seem a little repetitive, but it is all i have to say for here :)

Chapters 3-4

Plot Summary:
The reader starts off the chapter learning about a special room in Nonna's house reserved only for when guests come over, it's the only room with air-conditioning. Josie then starts it off with a big argument with her Nonna about Nonna starting fights all the time and not knowing it. Then, after a few seconds the doorbell rings. It was Michael at the door, or as Josie begins to find out, her dad at the door. before even talking to him for long, she walked out the door and continued on. Josie then thinks about wanting to run off to get away and be free.
Thus begins chapter 4. It starts off with debating, versing the team from John Bartons school. St Anthony's (the school John Barton attends) beat St Marthas on Friday night. Afterwards, Josie rushed to the classroom where they served food and drinks to the debaters. There was nothing left, but John barton saved Jozie a Tim Tam. They talked about embarising party moments and then walked outside. They start talking about a regional dance for different schools, and then move onto talking about what careers they want to do next year. John starts telling Josie a secret about his personal life that no body else knows. He starts revealing his secrets to her, and then that they say good bye to each other and leave. Josie then starts talking in the novel about getting a job at McDonalds with Anna.

Challenges faced by the character(s)/information revealed about the character(s):
- Josie starts having a big fight with Nonna about her life and that she should have her own say in life.
- She meets her dad, but doesn't know what to say or do, so she just walks out of the door.
- Josie starts talking to John Barton very closely, and starts relating to him, revealing to the reader that she kind of likes him.
- She gets a job at McDonalds with her friend Anna, but didn't want to tell her mum because she would have a fit.

Important Quotations:

"I didn't want to look at him because I would have seemed too eager." (pg 43-44)
"From that minute on I begged to stay on the debating team and I haven't regretted a minute of it." (pg 49)
"...was that I got a job at McDonald's. Anna and I had seen teh advertisement in our local paper and decided to go for it."(pg 49)

Personal Response:
Things are actually starting to happen in these few chapter, such as her starting to like John Barton. The last two chapter where a big boring because nothing really happened, but starting off Chapter 3 with a big fight with Nonna and Chapter 4 about debating and talking deeply with John Barton.
I'm actually starting to like this book.

Chapters 1-2

Plot Summary:
The reader is introduced to Josephine Alibrandi, who we find out in is her last year of school at St Marthas' High School.
Josephine is asked by Sister Louise to talk at "Have a Say Day", a day where high school students talk about anything, but Josephine talked about AIDS and the lack of sexual education in schools.

Challenges faced by the character(s)/information revealed about the character(s):
The reader is lead to believe by the narrator of the book is Josephine, and that she is a student at school that doesn't enjoy it that much and that she doesn't particularly like her family because of the way they act around her.
We meet Josephine's friends Sera, Lee and Anna around the beginning of Chapter 2 and find out a bit about their personal lives.
The reader is also introduced to Jacob Coote who also said a speech at the same "Have a Say Day" then Josephine. Jacob Coote is from teh public school down the road that no-one really likes, and a few years back he smooched 2 eggs into Josephine's glasses.

Important Quotations:
"She (her grandmother) accuses my mother of being a bad mother for not caring enough and letting me go. Mama almost gives it to her each time, and some days when the three of us are together it's World War Three." (pg 6)
"Seated on my other side was Jacob Coote from Cook High. Cok High is the public school in the city area. Because it's the closest school to us we don't get along well with them. We think we're better than them. They think we're the biggest dags in the world." (pg 26)
"Jacob Coote and about ten of his friends...blocked both entrances of a land we cut through to get to out bus-stop. Twelve of us were bombarded with eggs, rotten fruit and vegetables."(pg 27)

Personal Response:
What I think the chapter is about: This chapter is about introducing us to Josephine and her friends, and her thinking she is an outsider in the world.
My response of the book so far: This book so far has been sort of boring in my eye. Nothing so far has happened, other then the "Have a Say" Day and a few fights she had with her mother, none of them being interesting. The book doesn't fell like it is setting up a story it just seems like it is explaining one persons life.

2. Erratic - Moving from the usual or proper course of conduct in opinion.
